At just 17 years old, Atlanta singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mason Embers has released his fourth pop-rock single, “Rush”. Writing and recording almost every part of the song himself, Embers has worked with Eric Stallings of The Groove Studio, Wyatt Oates of Atlanta’s Madison Records, and Atlanta mastering engineer Martina Albano to bring his vision to life. "Rush" was released on all digital streaming platforms in November of 2020.
“I’m beyond excited for the release of my new single “Rush”. Though time seemed to slow to a halt during this year, I think it’s safe to say all our minds have stayed racing. This song is about recognizing the urge to constantly keep moving in this world, but realizing that sometimes we need to slow down and take an outside perspective to enjoy the smaller details in life. I hope you all can find something in this song you can relate to and feel- and know that no matter what point you are in your life, that new times are always coming and you are never truly stuck.”
Mason Embers has a mission: influence his listeners to feel the range of human emotion. Blending a multitude of genres and writing reflective lyrics showcasing the aspects of our thoughts and feelings, and even at his young age, Mason Embers seeks to provide mature reflections about life and the situations that we experience.
Gravitating to music from a young age, Mason developed a natural ability to sing. He remained an interested listener, never planning to personally pursue music. However, after a sudden desire to learn, he began guitar lessons at age thirteen. His progression was quick and his songwriting ability was instantly recognized: less than a week into lessons, he had written his first song. From there, Embers has gone on to write his upcoming debut concept album and the 12 song full length album will finally see a release mid-year.
“Gem”, Embers’ first single, released in January of 2020, set the tone from the start. “‘Gem’ is a love song for anyone, about anything,” Embers states. “I wouldn’t call it a love story, but more an experience, an embodiment of the feeling of love for something.” The heartfelt song plays into his album’s main storyline of a fictional soldier going through war, and all of the emotions that come with it.
Mason has one wish for his new fans: “I hope everyone who listens can get something out of the songs, something that applies to what they are feeling,” he says. “Every one of my favorite records have made me contemplate my views, my way of thinking, and my life itself.” While always being grateful for the present, Mason is looking forward to his journey’s future and welcomes everyone to join it alongside him.
PRESs
Indie Pulse: “…balances strong emotion with a powerful poetic bend.”
Music Existence: “Embers’ lush lead vocal and the elegant strumming of the strings aside, “Rush” is just perfect pop songwriting incarnate, blushing with a mild melancholy that quickly gives itself over to the optimism of the lyrics here. It’s Beatles-esque but hardly a throwback, and in my world it doesn’t get much better than that.”
Essentially Pop: “His performance on ‘Rush’ is both engaging and communicative, and is a glowing example of a young songwriter whose ideas are burning brightly inside.”
Too Much Love: “‘Rush’ is Mason Embers’ electrifying acoustic single…and (is) creating a lot of buzz for the young singer/songwriter’s career…”
